Ex-Chargers QB Ryan Leaf pleads guilty to misdemeanor domestic violence count
Ryan Leaf, 44, was placed on probation for a term of three years and ordered to complete a one-year domestic violence class in connection with his guilty plea to a misdemeanor false imprisonment charge
Former San Diego Chargers quarterback Ryan Leaf on Friday admitted a misdemeanor domestic violence charge stemming from his arrest in Palm Desert over Memorial Day weekend.
Leaf, 44, was placed on probation for a term of three years and ordered to complete a one-year domestic violence class in connection with his guilty plea to a misdemeanor false imprisonment charge, according to John Hall, a spokesman for the Riverside County District Attorneys Office.
A misdemeanor count of domestic battery was dropped in exchange for his guilty plea, according to Hall, who said the defendant was given time credits that canceled out a four-day jail term.
Leaf, who was arrested May 22 at a residence on Grapevine Street, was charged Wednesday and entered his plea Friday morning before a judge at the Larson Justice Center in Indio.
