Kamala Harris to Campaign in California Against Effort to Recall Gavin Newsom

https://www.newsweek.com/kamala-harris-campaign-california-against-effort-recall-gavin-newsom-1621628

Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to make a trip to California in support of Governor Gavin Newsom ahead of the state's gubernatorial recall election next month, Newsom's campaign announced Friday.

Newsom, a Democrat, is fighting to stay in office after a recall effort qualified for a ballot earlier this year. Next month's recall election, scheduled to take place on September 14, will determine whether voters want Newsom to remain in office for the remainder of his term.

"I am excited to join my friend and our Vice President next week," Newsom said in a Friday news release. "The stakes of this election couldn't be higher."

Newsom's comments in the release, which his Stop the Republican Recall campaign distributed Friday morning, continued by encouraging voters to cast their ballots in favor of keeping him in office and said the state's future "is on the line."

This makes me smile.

Particularly with the decision not to have Dems coalesce around a plan B in case the recall does succeed, it’s vital this be defeated.

Kevin Paffrath.

He has a YouTube channel called Meet Kevin. He is a centrist Dem but he is polling much higher than other Dems, and some polls have him leading over Elder.

I thought about writing his name in on that line in the bottom right, but figured I should follow their orders on this.

I was thinking I might have to find a way to change it (I still have my stub), but think I'll trust they got this.

Thanks.

Possibly may help with the lawsuit as well if no votes is one of the top.

After, of course, voting no to this stupid recall. I get the theory that they don’t want people voting for a replacement because people might decide they like plan B and vote yes on the recall… but I have absolutely no intention of voting yes, and it just feels wrong to allow Repugs to be the only ones to have a say *if* things went south.

I think if they came out backing someone else, it wouldn't look good for them. We just want a backup plan in case.

Nobody wants a Repug who gets 12%. Or any Repug for that matter.
