Back when James Gabbert owned KOFY. Good, fun local programming. In January 1995 it became a Warner affiliate, and the independent vibe changed.

Ch.20, Ch.44, Ch.2 before it became a Fox affiliate and Ch,36
home of "The Old Sourdough and Wachikanoka".
brought to you by MMM Carpets.

This brings to mind "The all night movie movie-go-round"
with host Jay Brown of Spartan Dodge and the Price Slasher, on Ch.11

Maybe someone remembers. Quick web search turned this up:

https://tvstations.fandom.com/wiki/KOFY

Most memorable were the station identification breaks featuring pets, usually dogs, of Bay Area viewers that would look on cue at a television screen showing the station's logo. In fact, these proved to be immensely popular—so much so that KTZO/KOFY would often work together with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals by displaying pets that could be adopted, along with a phone number to call with the pet's name on screen.

Usually my apartment had KBLX ever plinking Sade, DeBarge, Al Green tunes in the background, in it's "soft and warm, the quiet storm" days. Sigh, old, creaky steps apartment buildings now long gone in Hayes Valley. My 4th floor walkup had one of the only functional fireplaces. I used it a lot, too.

It reminds me of being home with chicken pox when I was 11

My best friend had it at the same time and we watched together over our corded rotary wall phones
