if tornado is upon you:
avoid being near electric lines and windows.
get under a heavy table or go to basement or hide in a bathtub
protect your eyes
width of tornado can vary and be multiple vortexes.
hail is a sign.
warm humid air meets cold air.

I'd get my own warning here. I'm more used to wildfire alerts...

At least up in the Vista part of North County that I'm in.

(2,360 posts)4. Hurricane Hilary maybe? I'm in East County, and I don't recall getting a warning to take cover immediately,
so maybe they only broadcast it to North County? A family member said teachers were having the kids shelter in place at an elementary school. That just boggled my mind.

I just know I had PTSD from seeing this alert yesterday. The alert came through and then it was like BAM! The rain started coming down so hard, I couldn't even see my palm trees in my front yard from my office window.
