Dwight Monroe Jr. throws name in Vallejo Mayor election
Dwight Monroe Jr. has entered his name in the November election for Vallejo Mayor.
Monroe becomes the fifth person to enter the field, joining former Vallejo City Councilmember Pippin Dew, Andrea Sorce, Ravi Shankar and Michael Alonzo. Current Vallejo Mayor Robert McConnell’s term expires in 2025.
The 32-year-old Monroe — currently the Vallejo Naval and Historical Museum Board Vice President — previously ran for the District 5 seat on the council in 2022, losing to Peter Bregenzer. Monroe is also the owner of Dwight’s Mobile Brake Service LLC.
He says he is running for his new role with “great honor and enthusiasm.”
