SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. — With 60 days left until the November 5 election, there are several measures on the ballot that Shasta County voters will be deciding on.

Measure F would affect Burney residents. If approved, it would enact a property tax increase to fund the Burney Fire Protection District.

The district includes Burney and the town of Johnson Park. The tax increase would amount to $75 a year for a single-family home, with some rates being higher or lower depending on the property type. The total annual revenue would be just under $240,000.

Measure P would prohibit the use of eminent domain by the county to acquire property from a private owner without their consent to convey the property to another private party.
