Then Friday morning, I received a text from BallotTrax that said that my official ballot was mailed and that I should receive it within 2 mailing days.

Got it this morning. Nice.

Her dad in Santa Barbara and I in Burbank got ours over a week ago. I told her to call her county registrar.

and finally got the state voters' guide. I've decided on the main races, now it's down to sorting out the nearly identical city council and school board candidates.

There are more than 30 :issues' to vote on, from POTUS, to US Senator, US reps, local board reps and offices, statewide props, local props, etc.

Of them, my local SD Democratic Party had endorsements for nearly all of them, except one. So, I voted "straight blue ticket" based on their endorsements. The only one they were silent on, that's the one that I had to do a little 'legwork' myself, but I voted for the candidate that was endorsed by them in 2022.

Also, one of the props they were NEUTRAL on, so I had to delve into it further to see what impact it would have on me and/or the people that mattered most to me.
