2024 Election: Here are candidates for Long Beach City Council's 4th District

Two candidates are vying to represent constituents in Long Beach City Council’s Fourth District in the November general election.

Incumbent District 4 representative Daryl Supernaw is competing for a third term on the council against Long Beach City College board president Herlinda Chico. Both were among four candidates who vied to represent the district during the March 5 statewide primary.

District 4 is home to Cal State Long Beach, El Dorado East and West Regional Parks, and Millikan High School on Long Beach’s east side. The district now consists of more than 51,000 residents, according to the city’s website.

Supernaw was the lone incumbent below the majority threshold needed to win outright, with District 2 and 6 Councilmembers Cindy Allen and Suley Saro, respectively, well above 50%.
