Chances are you are already far enough inland/high enough. The overwhelming majority are. If you are near the coast near sea level you may need to be more proactive, however.

14. Governor Declares State of Emergency After Massive Quake in Humboldt County
Thu Dec 5, 2024, 09:00 PM
Dec 5

Many pictures, local accounts and some video at the link.

I live in northeast Humboldt County and would not know the quake occurred save for media, felt nothing.

There are many earthquakes, some large, offshore south of Humboldt Bay because three continental plates join.

from: https://kymkemp.com/2024/12/05/governor-declares-state-of-emergency-after-massive-quake-centered-in-humboldt-county/

After a 7.0 quake slammed into Humboldt County and surrounding areas at 10:44 this morning and, as of this posting, 58 aftershocks (larger that 2.5 with the largest magnitude 4.7) followed, the damage, though painful for many residents and businesses, was surprisingly limited given the quake’s magnitude.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported and power is on to most PG&E customers.

However, Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency not only for Humboldt County but also for Del Norte and Mendocino Counties
