Recall election Blue Lake voters lean toward keeping Elise Scafani in office

In the first and final election reports of Tuesday night — both were released simultaneously just before 9 p.m. — Blue Lake voters leaned toward keeping Councilmember Elise Scafani in office.

The final election-night report shows 197 people voted against the recall and 156 in favor.

There were 866 registered voters in Blue Lake as of Monday.

Reached just after the results were posted, Scafani told the Times-Standard she was “cautiously optimistic.”

I lived there for 25 years, until a couple years ago. I still subscribe to the FB page, and gather there's been lots of hand wringing about recent city councils.

I loved living in that little town.
