Colorado
Related: About this forumSix CO county sheriffs suing over recreational marijuana legalization.
These six are joined by a few sheriffs from neighboring states. They claim that since federal law makes MJ illegal, the Colorado law prohibits them from enforcing the federal law which according to the constitution takes precedence.
Some of these sheriffs are notorious nutjobs. The list includes the sheriffs of Larimer County, Yuma County, Elbert Count, Hinsdale County, Kiowa County, and Delta County. This is like Ferguson, MO where the welfare queens of the law enforcement industry preys on innocent people to justify their budgets and existence.
The Denver Post article quotes Colorado's main proponent of MJ legalization, Mason Tvert, as saying that this is just part of the prison industrial industry joining with the MJ prohibition forces. Mason is like Moses yelling, "Let my people go."
Shame on these sheriffs!

(16,051 posts)John Cooke, spearheaded the sheriff's revolt against Colorado's common sense gun legislation; no doubt he would have been right there with this putz, but he's now in the state senate working hard to make sure that guns become more important than any other consideration.
