Rep.Jared Polis should be ashamed

My congressman has never disappointed me more than his vote today to stop Syrian refugees (who are escaping ISIS) from coming to the US. Surely he knows that his constituents who have worked hard for him have always worked harder to make Colorado a welcoming place for people from around the world, especially for those suffering from war and violence.

How could a Dem from Boulder vote with the fearmongering Repubs who are not "protecting the American people" but really want only to bring down Obama (and Guv Hickenlooper) and keep "those Muslims" out of OUR country? Maybe you great Colorado DUers can figure it out.

I think some of the reps are making the calculation that the bill wont pass senate or will be vetoed so they vote to placate their electorate whom they perceive are scared and demand it.
Of course citizens are not always right ( the majority did not want to end segregation, accept Jewish refugees after ww2 and were fine with the internment of japanese americans ).

I called and emailed before the vote, but until now didn't know how he voted. He's usually thoughtful, but he also represents my area, filled with Republicans, and I know they've been beating down his door. I'm very disappointed.

There's no point expecting anything decent from Buck (my alleged rep), but this coming from Polis is a mindblower.

Well, they're off for ANOTHER vacation next week. Let us know if he stops in to let people know WTF he was thinking.

Bennett and Polis didn't learned any thing from Udall's defeat. Trying to appease right wingers is a losing strategy.
