Ken Buck says he might run for Colorado attorney general if Cynthia Coffman runs for governor

Political dominoes are falling across Colorado, and the latest could have Republican U.S. Rep. Ken Buck run for state attorney general in 2018 if Cynthia Coffman, the current officeholder, decides to join the crowded race for governor.

Two Republican operatives said that Buck, a two-term lawmaker from Windsor, has begun to talk about the possibility, and he confirmed his interest in a brief phone interview.

“If she decides that she’s not going to seek (the) attorney general’s office, I would certainly keep my options open,” Buck said.

Sez me: He was discharged from the Colorado Justice Department for ethics violations. As DA he prosecuted and lost a politically vindictive case, in the process costing county taxpayers more than $100,000. He helped to bring very negative national attention to the county when he helped to engineer the dubiously legal raids at the packing plant. He claimed he was better suited for office than his primary opponent because, unlike her, “ I don’t wear high heels.” He refused to prosecute an admitted rapist because he was personally convinced that the victim was merely experiencing “buyer’s remorse”. He believes that alcoholism and being gay are choices. He was disciplined by the state Supreme Court for his unconstitutional violations in raiding a tax preparation business that serves the Spanish-speaking community. He promised to bring bullshit to Congress, and he has kept that promise. Ken Buck thinks that this resume qualifies him to be Colorado’s Attorney General. He needs to be disabused of that notion.

And Buck will never get the AG position. It is past time a Democrat grabs it.

Not represent me anymore. Best case he runs for AG and loses and we get a little more sanity and less disdain for voters in CD4.
