Andrew Romanoff running for Cory Gardner's seat!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm really pleased to see this, I've been a fan of Romanoff for a long time!

In his campaign announcement, Romanoff set early themes, including supporting Medicare for all, the so-called “Green New Deal” to move toward renewable energy and an immigration reform plan that includes a pathway to citizenship. Also, he has vowed not to take contributions from special-interest groups.

“We’ve seen our planet plundered by an industry that puts its profits ahead of our survival,” Romanoff’s statement said. “And just as troubling, we’ve seen politicians do the bidding of billionaires, catering to their corporate benefactors while sticking the rest of us with the bill. I’m running to change that.”

I'm not much of a Michael Bennet fan, but I'm a big Romanoff fan. He deserved to be appointed by Ritter instead of Bennet. Romanoff is a real Democrat and I'll definitely have to contribute to his campaign.

I was a Romanoff delegate when he was running for senate. As much as I like Obama, I will never forgive him for putting his thumb on those scales for Bennet.

I'm very happy to see Romanoff running for this seat.

I think that idiot Buck could have won that seat over Romanoff. Buck nearly beat Bennet and Bennet's turned out to be a pretty decent Senator. Two years later, Andrew lost to Coffman by nearly 10 points.

I still wonder if Colorado is liberal enough to elect Andrew Romanoff to a statewide position. Two of the worst whacky Republican members of the House represent Colorado; Ken Buck and Doug Lamborn and Tipton's not far behind.

One thing for sure, Cory Gardner's got to go! I'm for whoever will beat him.

Absolutely!

Buck and Lamborn are completely toxic. I don't know much about Tipton, but if the other two are any indication...

campaigned and voted for him in the primary with Michael Bennet in 2010. Bennet won, barely beating Buck for the Senate seat. I gave more $$ than I could afford to help Bennet win, Buck is so dangerously wrong.. I campaigned and supported Andrew in his run in the 6th against Coffman in 2012. Coffman won, by a lot.

Colorado is more blue now than it's been in a long time, and Coffman is finally gone, but Crow is pretty moderate and was heard to denounce Pelosi, which bothered me. I still think Colorado's not liberal enough to elect Romanoff and we've got to get rid of Cory Gardner. Like I said, I love Andrew, but keeping my options open.

Not to be too snarky, but after Gardner came out and endorsed Trump for 2020 (Gardner, Portman endorse Trump for 2020) I'm hoping anyone with a (D) after their name could defeat him.

Now was the time for Gardner to come out and pledge to act in the interests of the country, not his party, and he flubbed it big time.

I'm hoping we can get the best Dem for the job, and not just settle for someone that we think can beat Gardner.

Is popular where I live. I want him gone!

I worked for Andrew in his primary run. I love the man and wouldn’t hesitate to vote for him but conservatives run deep in Colorado. They’d do a number on Andrew and I worry he may not beat it.

I don’t think you’re snarky. We’re in this together. Colorado’s come a long way since the dark days of Amendment 2 and some pretty awful right wingers running things. We’re still dealing with TABOR and other stupid conservative decisions. If we can manage to send Romanoff or someone like him to the Senate, I’ll die a happy woman.

CG has tried to fool us by talking tough against Trump a few times. If that's what CG thinks he needs to say to appeal statewide these days then it's a good sign. Maybe that's why AR is jumping into the race. Colorado Dems have a deep bench.

I'm glad he's announcing early. He wants it, he's going after it and I'll be happy to contribute to his campaign.

I always supported Romanoff and have been disappointed that he has not been elected. This is the time. Colorado is fortunate to have Bennet representing us; I was concerned about him since he worked for Anschutz but he has worked hard for us and been a solid Democrat, just as Hickenlooper has been. And now we will lead the country in progressive policies with Gov. Polis!
