Rally for VAWA tomorrow State Capitol

[img][/img]

Info:
We are getting dangerously close to Congress not finishing the Violence Against Women Act. This landmark legislation has been proven to be effective in providing needed support for victims of Domestic Violence, and we need your help to let Congress know that they need to make the legislation a top priority immediately after the Election. This year's Senate version extends protections to the GLBT Community, Native American Community, Immigrants, and now prevents organizations that provide services from discriminating based on sexual orientation.

Our goal is simple: to get enough people to attend the rally to give Congress a visual representation of how many lives have been lost due to Domestic Violence since they last acted on the legislation. At the time of the rally, it will have been 185 days since they last acted, and we know that on average 3 people day each day here in the United States to Domestic Violence. That means 555 lives have been lost by the time we host this rally. Could you imagine the impact on Congress if they can visually how many lives have been lost.

They have to act! And this is your chance to help push them!

We will be meeting at the West Steps of the State Capital Building on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 11:30 AM. We know this is during your lunch hour, so we will provide lunch for all those that attend.

PLEASE tell your friends and family, we need all the support we can get for this event!

Again, this is a FREE event that gives you an opportunity to help Represent a loved one lost to Domestic Violence. Lunch will be provided.

This event is hosted by the Denise Fransua Domestic Violence Foundation. You can visit us online at http://denisedvfund.org/
