You know those school board elections we are used to downplaying? Nov 2 Elections in CO...

Many areas of Colorado have those positions on the ballot--along with several major ballot initiatives. I just got my own ballot for the so-called County Coordinated Election on November 2 and spent the better part of the morning researching who these people are. Frankly, the most important issue for me is whether or not they promoted sane COVID-19 policies (No anti-masking/anti-vaxxers for me) and answered local news questions adequately for the role of unbiased historical education (no Trump-loving racists tendencies).

If you have a similar election in your district, PLEASE do your homework on these candidates. I don't even have kids, but it is damned important to me that we have sanity on our school boards that respect education, science, and public health.

Many have the tell-tale Iwontcoparentwiththewgovernment written along side of the group of candidates.

That makes my decision very easy.

There will be a big push to prematurely eliminate masks in schools in Douglas County if these folks are elected.

Blake "No Mandates" Law on the ballot. ??

Apparently, it was determined that he had the right to appear that way.

Blake Law, candidate for the Thompson School District Board of Education, will appear as Blake “No Mandates” Law on the ballot during this November’s election.

The unorthodox “nickname” is allowed, according to Larimer County Clerk and Recorder Angela Myers, because nicknames are permitted and the state statute that governs how names appear on the ballot does not give the clerk any authority to determine what is and is not a genuine nickname.

These folks say no mandates, but want to impose their religion, “morality” (of which almost invariably ends up as deviant), and lack of experience on the rest of us and our kids. Love to know who’s funding him.
