HOSPITAL DISCOUNTED CARE (Effective 9/1/22)

Need hospital discounted care?
Because of recent legislation (HB21-1198), Colorado hospitals have to meet requirements to screen and provide discounted care to eligible Coloradans up to 250% of the Federal Poverty Level. (Some hospitals provide financial assistance up to a higher income limit and may have additional requirements for that assistance.)
If you are uninsured or if you ask to be screened, the hospital has to see if you might qualify for:
Public health insurance programs, like Health First Colorado (Medicaid), Emergency Medicaid, Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+), and Medicare. These programs can cover all or most of your health care bills.
Discounts on your hospital bills
All households with incomes at or under 250% of the Federal Poverty Level qualify (roughly $2,831/month for an individual, $5,781/month for a family of 4).
It doesnt matter if you have health insurance or if you are uninsured. You dont have to be a U.S. citizen or have a certain immigration status to get discounts. If you have insurance, you have to ask to be screened for discounted care.
