Alamosa to consider retail pot ballot measure

At its next meeting on July 17, the Alamosa City Council will consider placing a question on the November ballot that would ask voters about allowing retail and medical marijuana stores in the city limits.

The city says it’s been approached by residents who would like to see the question posed to voters.

“Given the strong opinions that some in our community may have about this issue, City Council wanted to make sure the community is aware of this discussion and has an opportunity to provide input,” said city spokesperson Jasmine Husmann.

Anyone who wants to address the City Council should complete a comment card prior to the meeting in order to speak during the public comment section of the agenda. There will not be a public hearing on this issue.
