CO-HD30: Colorado House District 30 candidates debate key issues leading into election

Colorado House District 30 candidates Republican Ramey Johnson and Democrat Rebekah Stewart recently debated key issues ranging from taxes and water conservation to education and mental health at a forum hosted by the Jefferson County League of Women Voters.

House District 30 covers Lakewood and Edgewater.

Johnson, a former state legislator and Lakewood city council member, said she was inspired to run after watching Colorado’s lawmakers pass overreaching legislation that lacked common sense in the last few years.

Johnson has a Master’s degree in public health nursing and said she’s passionate about serving the community. If elected, her priorities would be addressing high taxes, inflation, crime, mental health and substance abuse.
