Ballot measures address Central High School renovations

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -Central High School was built in the late 1950s. As with many older buildings, upgrades are needed.

“As you walk through the facility, it’s made very clear very quickly that this building really does need some serious upgrades,” said Curtis Englehart, Executive Director of the Grand Junction Economic Partnership.

Measures 4A and 4B on the ballot address the fiscal difficulties of a large renovation project.

4a would alleviate the district’s annual debt payments, allowing for an additional $190 million bond. The money would go toward first priority repairs for D51 schools, including Central High School and Fruita Monument High School.
