McMahon Gave $6M To Pro-Trump Super PAC; GOP Challengers Trail Dems In Congressional Races
When some Connecticut Republicans were trying to distance themselves from Donald Trump, two-time U.S. Senate candidate Linda McMahon took the opposite approach contributing $6 million to a pro-Trump super PAC, according to new filings with the Federal Election Commission.
McMahon, who was a Trump delegate to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, made her first contribution to Rebuilding America Now in August. Her most recent contribution was on Sept. 22 a week before the first presidential debate and before Trump became embroiled in controversy for lewd comments he made about women that were captured on a hot mic and faced accusations from more than 10 women that he had made unwanted sexual advances toward them.
McMahon did not return requests for comment Monday.
In an interview in the spring, McMahon took offense to some of the comments Trump had made about women, calling them "over the top," "deplorable" and "objectionable."
