We will never forget that: DC police officer killed after being accidentally shot while retrieving suspects weapon

A police officer who was shot in Northeast D.C. on Wednesday afternoon after a suspects discarded gun went off while he was retrieving it has died.
The officer, later identified as Wayne David, was struck at least once in the upper body and was transported to a hospital where he later died.
It happened in the area of DC-295 and Eastern Avenue in the Kenilworth neighborhood around 5:40 p.m.
