A man has been charged with assault in the case of a woman who suffered critical injuries Thursday after she jumped from a Northwest D.C. apartment building with her legs bound, police said.

The report from the D.C. police Friday afternoon said the woman’s hands and feet were tied together, and that she “was able to get free and jumped from the building” in the 4500 block of Connecticut Avenue just after 7 p.m. ... She is in a hospital in stable but critical condition with serious injuries, police said.

Kylee Jamal Palmer, 22, of Northwest D.C., was arrested and charged with assault with intent to kill, possession of an unregistered firearm and possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device, the police said.

Police also said that a rifle-style ghost gun was recovered in the building. Bedlion said “some type of reptile” was found and turned over to animal control.
