Florida
Related: About this forumI voted today ! I drove to the Orange County Supervisor of Elections Office and turned it in !
There was a line of cars to do this, which surprised me. They had two stations outside in the parking lot for people to drive up and turn in their ballot. They asked, explicitly, "Did you sign and date it ?", and I said yes of course. So, it's fair to say that the Orange County SOE office is functioning well on this score.
Please vote as early as you can. If by mail, please do not procrastinate at all.
Let's do this for Vice-President Biden and Senator Harris ! Let's turn Florida BLUE !

(1,943 posts)We didn't have drive up service, the ballot box was at the door. The parking lot was full except for a few spaces and the foot traffic to and from the box steady with no wait time.
The people I saw didn't scare me, they weren't clad in flags or driving big noisy trucks. That's a good sign. There's a democratic underground bumper sticker on the rear window of my daily driver - we dems are outnumbered 2 to 1 here so few others take chances.

My advice is to sign the envelope before placing the ballot/sleeve inside. The instructions say to do it the other way around. But it is simply easier to sign that envelope when it is flat to a surface and without the ballot plumping matters. Also don't forget to include email address and two phone numbers at top left of mailing envelope, in case they need to contact you regarding a problem with the signature, etc.
My last recommendation is to gently lick or wet the seal, instead of slobbering all over the place. For some stupid reason they have the wet flap seal over the top of the signature area. If it's too messy it could transfer to the other side and bleed the ink.
