Going after Trump is a necessity to protect the US Constitution. It’s a way of saying that some actions are very unacceptable and that if you do it you will be punished.

Venezuela’s late strongman Hugo Chavez tried to implement a friggin’ COUP before he was elected that country’s president and tore its constitutional order to bits. If the authorizes had been tougher on Hugo, I doubt that Venezuela would be the raging dumpster-fire it is today.
