I started clicking at the appointed start time. After a few tries clicking on Florida, it took me to the South Carolina page. Now it does nothing at all. God damn it. This is utter bullshit.
Update-7:27 a.m. clicking on Georgia and South Carolina takes me to those pages. Florida does nothing.
Update-7:35, still nothing. This was certainly NOT worth getting up for.
7:40 my wife got on and says 22% of the appointments in Pinellas County are left. FUCK THESE PEOPLE! FUCK THEIR DAMN CASINO CRAPSHOOT. I just tried and still cannot get on.
7:45 "Fully Booked" We can try again on Wednesday at 7 in the damn morning.

(14,620 posts)it said "appointment taken" try again. Problem is that you have start from "state" "county" and then chose which county, location, click all the yes/no answers, do the capcha thing and then it kicks you out. Appointment taken try again.. Did this FIVE FUCKEN TIMES then the only available appointments were in Jacksonville or Deland... shit..
I guess I'll try again next time. This was the closest I have been since the start.. I used two computers. One got in and the other NEVER got a booking appointment.
Heads up... Have your emergency contact and phone number available and an idea where the Publix stores are near you... Like I said I had to do it 5 times and still did not get a booking... Rat poop...
YMMV

(30,274 posts)Pinellas County stores became available and never have gotten further than the page that refreshes every 60 seconds. We've agreed we are done trying for a while. Maybe someone will do something rational-despite it being DeSatan's state. Maybe the Feds will step in.

(14,620 posts)it did open up, many counties were not open... Sarasota and Ft Myers said no available locations from the beginning... I'm curious if that's b/c Publix did not get enough doses or they want to spread the joy around to other counties...

(10,492 posts)Publix site when it first opened what, a month ago or so? Always within 60 seconds of the site opening, never able to get an appointment. Finally landed one on the county site. First shot ended up being a 2.5 hour ordeal leaving home to getting back.
EZPZ in and around Orlando according to friends.

(14,620 posts)The Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County has reached its appointment capacity. The Department will provide an update when the system reopens.
And so it goes...

not even bothering, will wait for a pharmacy to offer them, though a vaccine would come in pretty handy to alleviate my angst at going out.

(8,188 posts)We got pushed to the South Carolina site when it went live. My wife never got out of SC on her computer, but got into FL on her phone. I ended up on the FL site eventually- to no avail. The ordeal ended about 7:50 when my county was fully booked. It looks like they got more total doses but are confirming fewer appointments per day because the percentage increase in days (50%) is greater than the increase of available doses.

(778 posts)I haven't been battling to get on the Publix site because it seems to be a nightmare. I have tried Sam's Club and Walmart, without much luck.
There is one bright spot. We are signed up on our County's website and each got a phone call yesterday although we had to turn it down. When we first signed up, we chose the option to have the nearest vaccinations instead of the least amount of wait time. Since I signed both of us up at once, we also opted to be able to get it at the same time. The person taking the information seemed to be very alert, that yesterday they couldn't even find my husband's info at first when they called to set up my appointment. 20 minutes later he got a phone call for his appointment, but it is about 1 hour away from us and with people having to sit in line and still get turned away, we will just wait until we can get one right here. The thing that puzzles me is that I live in the largest city in our County so why would we drive to a town that's a fraction of this size? Poor allocating?
Was Pinellas one of the many counties that was taken over by the state's website? Fortunately mine isn't. I still have to chuckle when I hear the governor saying that all we need is more vaccines and don't want the federal government in here because everything is going so smoothly. Is he drunk or high or just that stupid?
rzemanfl
(30,274 posts)and say they will contact us when an appointment is available. The last I saw there were 60,000 people in line through something we signed up for with the county. We are also signed up with the state. The federal government needs to step in and take this out of DeSatan's hands.
