Rep. Matt Gaetz, fiancé claim money for St. Pete yacht deal ‘went missing’
5/27, WFLA 8, Tampa Bay

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) – Congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida has sailed into a new controversy, claiming money wired to close the sale on a St. Petersburg yacht his fiancé had agreed to buy “went missing.”

According to a spokesperson for Gaetz, he and his fiancé, Ginger Luckey, were “targeted by malicious actors” during the purchase process of a St. Petersburg yacht. Follow-up questions about the transaction and clarification of the statement have not been answered.

About a week after news broke about the investigation into Gaetz’s potential connection to the sex-trafficking case involving former Seminole County Tax Collector Joel Greenberg, the Republican was spotted with Luckey on a 41-foot yacht docked at Pier 4 at the St. Petersburg Municipal Marina.

Jon Golly, who owns a yacht in a slip across from the one Gaetz and Luckey boarded, is one of several boat owners on the pier who recall seeing the couple during the boat inspection process known as the survey.

a sign of a scam artist or someone with a real bad substance abuse problem. Or just a run of the mill personality disorder.

That's this guy. Probably all of the above.

Very very suspicious. Sounds like a launder to stash money in case he is sued in civil court later. ‘Cause that is gonna happen.

something wrong, he claims to be a victim in an adjacent matter. With the sex-trafficking minors with Greenberg, he tried to deflect with being a victim of blackmail -- and did so just as the story was breaking.

Now he's deflecting with some yacht money being stolen. Again, "don't look at X, look at this X adjacent thing where I'm really the victim." What's the real, shady, story about him and maybe this yacht that is about to break, hmmm?
