How vaccinated is your Florida ZIP code? Check hereTampa Bay Times, 7/1/2021
Now Floridians can check the vaccination levels where they live. The Tampa Bay Times prepared an interactive map that shows the vaccination level and demographics of most of the states ZIP codes so you can find out what the vaccination picture looks like in your area.
The data is from the Florida Department of Health, which shows how many residents received a coronavirus vaccine shot by ZIP code as of June 9. It is the latest, most granular data available, revealing that in 60 percent of ZIP codes less than half of residents were vaccinated. In 20 percent of ZIP codes fewer than one out of every three residents were vaccinated.
Just 13 percent of ZIP codes had a vaccination rate of 70 percent or higher.

His age demographic for vaccinations in Margate: 18%.

(2,352 posts)is 39.2% (Panama City Beach), which is actually high for her Trumpian panhandle area in general (which the map shows many areas in the 20's). She refuses to get it and calls Florida the "freedom state."
I've written about her before---when she lived in Delaware, she was a big Ralph Nader fan. She moved there, voted for Gore in 2000, and then it's been downhill since.
Delaware: Over 70%

We obviously need to do a better job helping get the word out that vaccines are available. Joe wants 70 percent by July 4th. Were 10 percent way which can be done.

Interesting to me that twice as many blacks have been vaccinated than whites. Go over one county and that number reverses. My white neighbors are truly "red blooded." As I am out and about, most black people are still wearing masks, almost no white people are. Most of the white folks (who are also big Trump supporters) have been scoffing at "face diapers." since day one and only wore one where the mask mandate was enforced.
When the D variant comes to town we are liable to have a big die-off.
I don't know what the hell is wrong with people.

(9,103 posts)...I can say with certainty that the 50% not vaccinated are the trump nuts. There is no reason that anyone in this suburb cannot walk up and get any vaccine that they want at any time.
One local promoter advertised a rock concert in St. Pete last week: tickets were $1000 but there was a $970 discount for vaccinated folks. That was to get around DeSatan's passport statute.

(37,468 posts)my zip code has only 49%, which is surprising and disappointing. The wealthier zip code just to my west has 60.1%.

(15,042 posts)That's the zip code around the University of Florida. The population is listed as 7,164, so it can't represent the school's much larger student body.
Is there a nationwide correlation between college towns and low vaccination rates? Other examples mentioned in this thread from today:

(778 posts)Leave it to Tampa Bay to provide us with good information. Accurate, too. As I am hanging my head in shame, I can see that my ZIP code has 31.4% who have had at least one shot. This was the Shocker for me. Younger age groups are doing better than the older. Those 50 to 64 are only at 15.7% and those 65-plus are at 16.5%. We are in the 65-plus group and couldn't wait to get vaccinated.

(222,072 posts)It's updated daily. My New York county is only at 63%, has been for the past few days, but other counties to the north and west are even lower - not to mention counties in most other states.
