Donald Trump plans to build 2,300 luxury homes at his Doral golf resort in the Miami area, part of a flurry of recent moves to revive a family business suffering from the one-two punch of a divisive presidency and coronavirus shutdowns.
In a news release Monday,
the 45th president called the plans for his sprawling Trump National Doral resort
perhaps the most exciting development in the country but was short on details such as the size of the homes and what they may cost.
The Doral revenue has plunged more than by $33 million, down more than 40%, according to financial statements filed with a federal government ethics office.
As of last year, the Trump company had $125 million borrowed on the property.

(5,602 posts)But Doral is not in the best part of town. Strip joints, tattoo parlors, a very busy airport and low rent apartments. Don't think any folks looking for luxury homes would be interested.

(778 posts)We have a relative who lived in one of his condo developments in Hollywood, Florida. This was at least 20 years ago and the HOA fee was $900 per month and I would hate to guess what it is now. It seemed really expensive to us because of course, that didn't even include the mortgage on the condo unit.
No matter what he does, it will be unaffordable for a huge majority of us. Not like I would personally be interested in living in that crook's place and any construction company who takes him on as a customer deserves what they get. I pity the first few who got screwed over by him, but it's pretty common knowledge that he doesn't pay his bills.
