Fla Republican pledges to make gender transition-related medical care for minors felony child abuse
DeathSantis, the Florida GOP, the Texas GOP, Ken Paxton and Greg Abbott are in a contest to see who can be the most punitive to LGBTQ children in general and to trans youth in particular. The goal is to punish and torture LGBTQ youths and to see if they drive these young vulnerable persons towards self-harm. In Texas, Ken Paxton came with a poorly reasoned "legal" opinion that transition related medical care is child abuse that Greg has instructed state agencies to investigate and prosecute anyone providing gender transition care. The ACLU and other have an injunction in place and the Biden Administration has taken strong steps to stop this stunt.
Since Greg Abbott has managed to find something cruel that Florida/DeathSantis is not doing, the assholes in Florida want to adopt a bill to prohibit gender transition medical care.

A Florida state House Republican on Monday pledged to introduce legislation to criminalize gender-affirming care for minors throughout the state, a proposal similar to a measure backed by Arkansas Republicans last year that was condemned by LGBTQ rights advocates.
State Rep. Randy Fine (R-Palm Bay), who recently served as the Houses K-12 budget chief, said he wants to shepherd legislation in 2023 that would create a felony child abuse penalty for doctors who provide surgery or prescribe drugs that aid in the gender assignment of youth in Florida. He also proposed that doctors lose their medical license.
Floridas 2023 session is currently some 11 months away. Fines term along with Floridas 160 legislative seats are up for election in November.
I can say Im a porcupine, but that doesnt make it so, Fine wrote in a tweet Monday. It is time to dispense with this fantasy making womens sports a joke and our schools into a cesspool.
Despite the injunction and the actions of the Biden administration, providers have either stopped or cut back on therapy which is hurting vulnerable young people
Not to be out done, Texas is planning on adopting a variation of Florida's "don't say gay" law. See
