Drive-thru testing site expected to open next week in Orange County

https://www.wesh.com/article/coronavirus-drive-thru-testing-orange-county-florida/31789309#

ORLANDO, Fla. —
Officials are hoping to open a drive-thru coronavirus testing site sometime next week.

The site was expected to open on Friday in the Orange County Convention Center parking lot.

FEMA and the Florida Department of Emergency Management said they are hoping to open the site early next week, though they would not speculate on what day. Officials said they will not open on Friday.

The convention center committed Monday to using a convention center parking lot as a testing site for the Central Florida region.

Zeke Emanuel just gave a time line, 3 months, April, May, June.

But the shortages are horrendous.

Yikes, I wonder if it's the convention center on IDrive? Traffic is bonkers over there.

We lived in Tally for a long time. There are many great hospitals down there (better than up here in VT). But there are so many without health insurance. And it took them forever to (semi?) close the beaches. DeSantis keeps talking like he can test and contain this - like South Korea - when it's beyond that now (and he's not doing what they did in South Korea, anyway).

We have many friends down there -

so worried for them (and us!) all.
