US Senate candidate, GA-Special
Dr. King said that out of all the inequalities, injustice in health care is the most shocking and the most inhumane.

Georgians need someone who will fight for their right to affordable health care.

When I hear that word ... “affordable” ... I start grinding my teeth.

95% of us can’t “afford” healthcare. NOBODY needs “affordable” healthcare. They need healthcare ... period, a right granted to most citizens of most of the civilized nations of the world without regard to their ability to pay.

Warnock knows his party, and he knows the right thing to say, but I would very much like it if our party would abandon its current messaging and get rid of that one word ... affordable.

I've also begun to wonder recently if the courts are the path to bring down the current system.

This is the idea: when someone at a insurance company denies a procedure, they have made a medical decision. They are therefore practicing medicine without a license. Even if it is a doctor who finally signs off, they have never met the patient, to me that sounds like malpractice. I think it would only take winning one case to bring down the insurance companies.

That’s how they avoid the (very reasonable) objection you raise. Yes. Insurance companies “practice medicine” on a regular basis.
