DeKalb County unveils new secure ballot drop box in Sycamore ahead of November election

In preparation for the upcoming election in November, DeKalb County Clerk and Recorder Tasha Sims announced Tuesday the installation of a new secure ballot drop box at the county's administration building. The building is located at 110 E. Sycamore Street in Sycamore

The new ballot drop box will be available beginning Thursday to DeKalb County residents who wish to cast their Vote by Mail ballots early and coveniently. Sims says with a continued emphasis on voter access and election security, the new drop box will be a reliable and secure option for Vote by Mail participants. The box will be available 24/7, monitored by security cameras linked with the Sheriff's Department system, and emptied daily by DeKalb County election officials.

Sims reminds those choosing to Vote by Mail that their ballot is sealed in the provided envelope, is signed in the designated portion on the envelope to validate the ballot, and is dropped off no later than 7 p.m. on November 5th to ensure it is counted.

More information on Vote by Mail ballots and the new drop box can be found here.
