SPOTLIGHT RACE: LeMario Brown for GA-SD18 (Special)

I’m a lifelong resident of Middle Georgia, where I operate my farm and built my small business. I was raised on Carver Drive in Fort Valley, in a family with deep agricultural roots. My maternal grandfather ran a roadside produce stand, and my paternal grandfather farmed cattle and hogs—teaching me the value of hard work, responsibility, and stewardship from an early age. I learned to drive a tractor before I ever drove a car.

Those lessons still guide me today. As a farmer and small-business owner, I don’t have the luxury of ignoring higher costs for groceries, fuel, insurance, or utilities—and neither do the families I want to represent.

I previously served six years on the Fort Valley City Council, including as Mayor Pro Tem, where I worked on public safety, infrastructure, and expanding economic opportunity for working families. That experience reinforced my belief in practical solutions, steady leadership, and showing up for every part of the community.

I’m running for Georgia Senate to focus on affordability, support farmers and small businesses, expand access to broadband and healthcare, and make sure every county in District 18 has a strong voice under the Gold Dome.
