Pit bull attacks, injures N. Idaho boy & leaves puncture wounds in his neck up to five inches deep

Associated Press

A pit bull terrier is being blamed for attacking a six-year-old boy from northern Idaho and leaving puncture wounds in his neck.
KREM-TV of Spokane, Wash., ( http://tinyurl.com/c9jzgg5) reports Charlie Stone of Hayden is recovering from the attack.

But his father, Nathan Stone, estimates that the wounds are up to five inches deep.

Police records indicate that the pit bull was leashed and wearing a choke collar, but was still able to lunge at the boy while he was riding his bicycle.

Now, authorities say the dog has been quarantined and may be euthanized, due to its behavior.

Nathan Stone says he thinks that would be the right thing to do.

He's also contemplating legal action against the dog's owner.
