Pristine wilderness may no longer exist in the United States, but Idahos Teton Valley comes close.
On the western slope of the Teton Valley Range near the Wyoming border, this 450-square-mile county is a place where it is still possible to see and hear nothing and no one. The land unfolds into layers of greens, yellows and browns, unmarred by telephone lines or electrical wires, before giving way to snowy mountain peaks, some razor sharp, that disappear into the clouds.
