University of Idaho fraternity suspension to continue after investigation

MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — A University of Idaho fraternity remains suspended for the remainder of the academic year after a university investigation found that the fraternity engaged in behavior inconsistent with the university's policies.

University officials announced Friday that the chapter of Delta Sigma Phi violated the school's hazing, drug use and alcohol consumption policies, but they did not disclose details about the violations. The university suspended the fraternity in October.

The decision is supported by fraternity's national headquarters.

As part of the sanctions, first-year students cannot live in the fraternity while the chapter is under suspension. All UI first-year students are required to live on campus if they are under the age of 21.
