Dear Mr. President,

The Stephenson County Democrats want you to know that you have made us very proud of and grateful for your accomplishments and the way you have guided our economy through these difficult times we are all experiencing.

Freeport, Illinois needs your help again to create the excitement and the continuing support for the next four years with you as our President. We have not forgotten the story from Senator Durbin that he realized how special you are when he saw the huge crowd of support for you in Freeport on your campaign stop here six years ago.

Now, Freeport needs you again. Sensata, formally known as Honeywell Corporation, is a company owned by Bain Capital. Sensata has chosen to close the Freeport operation and move all the jobs to China. More than 170 local people will be out of a job when they close the doors. The travesty of this is that the current employees must train the new employees from China in how to do their jobs. This adds insult to injury in the worst sense.

Mitt Romney recently was campaigning in this area, as close as Janesville, Wisconsin, yet refused requests to come to Freeport and meet with the Sensata/Honeywell employees. He blatantly ignored requests to come to Freeport.

Mr. President, we respectfully ask that you come to Freeport to talk with the loyal employees of Sensata/Honeywell and the people of Stephenson County.

The Stephenson County Democrats stand behind you and hope that you can make Freeport a stop on your campaign trail soon. We need your support and encouragement desperately in our area. Please know that we will strive to do whatever we can to help make this visit from you happen.
