Dennis Hastert victim again argues for rest of hush money in court filing

One of former U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert's sexual abuse victims argues he kept his end of the bargain to remain silent about decades-old misconduct in exchange for $3.5 million, and it was the disgraced politician who first disclosed the existence of their secret pact.

In the latest filing in the man's breach-of-contract lawsuit, Hastert's victim maintains he is due full payment because he was no longer obligated to remain silent once Hastert told federal authorities about their agreement when he falsely accused the man of extortion.

Lawyers are due to appear March 8 before Kendall County Judge Robert Pilmer in Yorkville. The man's response, filed late last week, came after Hastert recently asked Pilmer to not only reject the lawsuit, but also to make the man pay back the $1.7 million Hastert gave him.

The lawsuit was filed in April by a now middle-age married man whom Hastert coached decades ago at Yorkville High School. Hastert was close friends with the boy's parents.

"Hastert was close friends with the boy's parents" = grooming, the entire set of behaviors by which pedophiles locate, get their hooks into, and control their victims.
