Rauner television ad against Pritzker!
Has anyone seen the ad? I saw it last night for the first time. Here is a bit about the ad, from the Tribune:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/politics/ct-met-bruce-rauner-pritzker-blagojevich-campaign-ad-20180110-story.html
Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner on Wednesday unveiled a TV attack ad featuring audio of Democratic governor candidate J.B. Pritzker talking to disgraced former Gov. Rod Blagojevich about a possible job, prompting Pritzker to go up with a commercial hitting Rauner for deaths and illnesses at a downstate veterans home.
The new advertising onslaught is unfolding well before either candidate has faced voters in the March 20 primary, foretelling how negative and expensive a potential general election contest between two wealthy men willing to use their money to promote their political careers.

Pritzger did nothing wrong. The conversation was one picked up by the Feds when Blago was being wiretapped. The commercial features some rather creative editing. Rauner is a dirty S.O.B.

(31,438 posts)And even Fox News rates him the worst republican governor.
What Democrats in government here say about him is that he simply will not negotiate. Everything has to be his way.
He also believes that there should be no minimum wage. Our state treasurer is someone who tried to talk to him about that, and about how everyone needs a living wage. It is as though a wall comes down in front of Rauner's face. Nothing registers with him but his own opinions.
I have noticed that a lot of people are leaving government in Illinois. They are not running again. What I am hearing is that many of them are worn down by battling Rauner. He sounds a lot like Trump. We can't let these people defeat us, but I understand how hard it is. I am weary myself.
Rauner is vulnerable. But we have to be careful. He bought the election against Quinn. He won by a narrow margin. I was kind of stunned that he won. But I have friends in republican areas who think he could win again. They don't necessarily like him, but they think he could do it. We have to GOTV.

(42,649 posts)to hide his own massive failures. A man much like Donald Trump in both his personal nastiness and his refusal to admit of any responsibility for his predatory business model and vicious political actions.
Recommended.

(31,438 posts)but I will take Pritzker. It is interesting that so many of the politicians I know and like in Illinois have already endorsed Pritzker. Many of the unions have endorsed him, too.
I don't like to see anyone endorsed by politicians and political organizations before the primary, but they must have their reasons. I can think of a couple of good reasons. For starters, there are too many candidates. We need to be sure the best one becomes the nominee. That is not easy when there are so many of them vying for the nomination. We will have repiggies cross over and vote for weaker candidates just to screw us up. Real Democrats need to know who the strongest contenders are. I hate open primaries!!!
Pritzker has been doing the work for quite a while. I have seen him at quite a few Democratic events over the last eighteen months or so. Visibility and electability are important when running against a scum ball like Rauner. He will do anything underhanded that he has to do.

(71,820 posts)he has all the charisma of a baked potato.
he also has not been very good at some of the candidate forums, i have heard. he blew off the dupage dems. they had a good crowd, but he just did a cameo and split.
a lot of people that i respect are on the jb train.
i dont hold money against people, i hold them up for what they do w it.
i dont really know who is who in the family tree, but i know that the family does a lot of good w their money. the colonel does a lot of work in my hood, rehabbing some architectural gems w great love and respect.
i also got to meet susan years ago, and she is a good dem to the core. very generous w women's causes.

(706 posts)Hopefully the weather holds as I'd like to go meet him.
Rauner also has a low opinion of anyone who does NOT have a four year college education. And to think if the pukes hadn't deemed Judy Baar-Topinka a RINO, IL might be in a totally different position.

(4,473 posts)Wr aren't given any sort of context. Or how the conversation continued. All we know for sure is that Blago didn't like Lisa Madigan.
