Related: About this forumIs There Any Reason That A Chinook Helicopter Was Flying Around Schaumburg Yesterday (Sat)....
My friend lives in the Schaumburg, a Chicago suburban area, and saw a Chinook go back and forth over her house about 3 times.
We haven't heard anything about this on the local news.
Kind of scary when you see a military helicopter over your house.
Any info would be appreciated.

(5,741 posts)from Great Lakes Naval Station up in Waukegan doing training flights and O'Hare Airport is just east of Schaumburg a bit. They may have been doing training back and forth, practicing landings, in-flight training and maneuvers etc. The Illinois Civil Air Patrol also has facilities around the Chicago area and specifically one in Schaumburg and also one nearby in West Chicago and Wheeling. Training missions are my best bet.

(14,408 posts)this morning northbound on I94. I hadnt seen the medical one before. There was a big red cross on it. Guys in military garb were driving. I too assumed they were probably National Guardsmen headed to Waukegans naval base.
