Gibson City's consolidated election is quickly approaching

GIBSON CITY, Ill. (WCIA) — Gibson City’s consolidated election is next week. Current Mayor Dan Dickey is running against alderwoman Sarah Sarantakos.

She’s been in that position for less than two years but has worked with local government for a decade and has also worked with previous mayors. Sarantakos is currently working on brining a second pool to the city.

On the other hand, Dickey said a big accomplishment during his time is an ongoing sewer and water project after the historic flooding in 2021.

“I’m looking forward to moving Gibson City forward,” Dickey said. “I mean, I’m just looking to the future. I haven’t really changed anything. I think it’s important that you listen to the citizens, the businesses.”
