Chief Justice Rush tests positive for COVID-19

INDIANAPOLIS—Indiana Supreme Court Chief Justice Loretta Rush is in quarantine after testing positive for COVID-19 on Sunday.

The Office of Judicial Administration issued a news release Monday noting the positive test. Court spokesperson Kathryn Dolan said the chief justice is not hospitalized and is in the early stage of the virus. She is under a doctor’s care.

The court office said that Rush has been in self-isolation since learning a family member tested positive for COVID-19. She has been working remotely and has not been to the Statehouse since Sept. 1.

Rush immediately informed her colleagues, staff and other government officials as soon as she received the positive diagnosis and has said she will continue self-isolating and working remotely as well as adjusting her public schedule as needed.
