WARRICK CO., Ind. (WFIE) - Two women in Warrick County are facing animal cruelty charges.

Authorities confirm they were called Tuesday night to a home on Maelynn Court in Newburgh.

61-year-old Kimberly Burko and 29-year-old Shayna Burko are in jail.

Deputies say Warrick County Animal Control Officers, with help from the Warrick Humane Society, removed several animals from the home due to unsanitary living conditions. ... They say the ammonia smell inside the home was strong enough to cause burning to officers' eyes, noses and throats.
