Joe Biden-Kamala Harris campaign sign vandalized with swastika in Ankeny

A swastika was painted over a campaign sign for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden and his running mate, U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris, this week in Ankeny.

The sign, which sat in a yard near the intersection of NE Berwick Drive and NE 78th Avenue, had the names of Biden and Harris covered with white paint and a red swastika drawn over them, according to a police report.

Neighbors told officers they believe the vandalism occurred Monday night or early Tuesday morning.

Sgt. Ryan Evans, spokesperson for the Polk County Sheriff's Office, said no suspects have been identified.
