DES MOINES, Iowa
The Iowa Department of Public Health on Saturday reported another 62 additional COVID-19 deaths in the state as 2,371 more people contracted the virus. Iowa has reported 216 additional virus deaths in just the last three days.
As of 10 a.m., the health department reported 242,062 total coronavirus cases, 157,028 total recoveries and 2,665 total deaths since the pandemic began. The state reported 239,691 total cases and 2,603 total deaths a day earlier.

Virus hospitalizations dipped below 1,000 for the first time since Nov. 10 on Saturday. There are currently 960 Iowans hospitalized with Covid-19, down from 1,000 a day earlier. There were 131 patients admitted in the last 24 hours, an increase of 8 from the previous day. There are currently 204 patients in intensive care, down from 209 a day earlier. The state reports 117 patients on ventilators, a decrease of 11 patients from the previous day.
Iowa reports approximately 2,980 available inpatient beds, 359 ICU beds and 851 ventilators available. Hospitalization analysis shows 696 of those hospitalized had a primary COVID-19 diagnosis, while 264 were hospitalized for another reason but tested positive. State data shows 72% of those hospitalized are 60 or older.

Here in Vegas,we are know seeing the Thanksgiving fall out with a major surge in cases. Yesterday we set a new record for Positive as well as fatalities.
