STATEMENT: Reynolds continues attacks on public schools, hiring former Trump, DeVos aide
Des Moines, Iowa -- Progress Iowa Executive Director Matt Sinovic issued the following statement in response to Gov. Reynolds hiring McKenzie Snow, a former aide to Betsy DeVos and Donald Trump to run Iowas Department of Education:
Every parent wants their child to have the best possible education and the opportunity to thrive in school. Parents and students deserve a heck of a lot better at the Department of Education than someone who learned how to privatize and pillage our public schools working under former MAGA President Donald Trump and private school executive Betsy DeVos. We deserve someone who will support public education for every child and who ensures kids have the freedom to learn an honest, accurate education. Unfortunately, todays hire proves Kim Reynolds is intent on continuing her attacks on parents, students, and our public schools.

Why did Chad Aldis resign?
Aldis replaced former Department of Education Director Ann Lebo in March.
In his resignation letter, dated May 26, Aldis said being appointed director of the department was "the honor of a lifetime."
"I appreciate the confidence that you placed in me to serve in this critical role serving Iowa students," he wrote. "It is therefore with regret that, for family reasons, I submit this letter of resignation effective June 30."
I expect a whole lot of financial questions will not be answered and will eventually fade without answers.

Might be a good idea to make sure that passport is up to date.
