New roller coaster at Adventureland parts starting to arrive

Just learned of this;

Adventureland Park officials announced on Facebook that the first parts of the park’s new roller coaster have arrived in Altoona.

Footings for “The Monster,” a 13-story steel roller coaster, were set over the winter, according to officials. The first parts of the bright green track have been unloaded from containers shipped to Iowa by the manufacturer.

Adventureland announced the new $9 million ride in July, which replaced the beloved but aging log ride. The log ride was torn down at the end of the summer season, and preparations for the new roller coaster began.

"The Monster” will be a 2,500-foot steel track with a 133-foot vertical lift hill, five inversions, a 101-degree first drop and 10 "airtime" moments, according to Adventureland.

Oh man, they tore the Log Ride down??? I loved that ride!
