Former IA State Sen Sorenson pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.

Ol' Kent can't stay out of trouble these days;

Former Iowa state Sen. Kent Sorenson has pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct a day before his scheduled trial in a domestic abuse case.

Defense attorney Thomas H. Miller said Tuesday that a plea agreement had been reached with prosecutors.

Sorenson had been charged with domestic abuse and two counts of interference with official acts. He was arrested in July after officers arrived at his rural Warren County home to intervene in an argument involving him and his wife.

Sorenson resigned from the Iowa Senate in October 2013. He pleaded guilty in 2014 to two federal charges related to his decision to switch his support to Ron Paul from Michele Bachman before the 2012 Iowa Republican presidential caucus.
