Some news out of Des Moines about the US Senate Race this year;
Democrats in Iowa and Washington with knowledge of her plans but not authorized to discuss them say she'll announce as early as Friday.
As chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee Grassley refuses to hold Supreme Court nominee hearings, a position Democrats believe weakens him politically.
Judge, Iowa's first woman agriculture secretary, served four years as former Gov. Chet Culver's lieutenant governor. They were defeated in 2010 after one term. She didn't respond to messages Thursday.
If she gets the nomination she certainly has my support. But then so do any of the Democrats running to retire Grassley.

(63,207 posts)Robb Hogg's background and philosophy fit more with what I would like to see as our candidate.
Have been told that the ag lobbyists see that Grassley may be in trouble and they could live with Judge so money could flow to her campaign. Hogg doesn't seem quite as 'persuadable' since he is a climate warrior:
"In 2013, Rob released his book, Americas Climate Century: What Climate Change Means for America in the 21st Century and What Americans Can Do About It , which has helped people across the country understand the issue better and take action."

I would vote for Lucifer F. Satan over Grassley. With Judge in the race it will bring more media and more headlines and thus more name recognition for both. If Judge gets the nomination she gets my vote.
Having seen Judge on the stump you know she will go after Grassley hard and will not fail to call him on his bullshit. My feeling is that Chuckles is getting a bit senile and is much less able to respond to attacks with the air of arrogance that he used to.
Here is Hogg speaking on climate:
